General Partners
Seth L. Harrison, M.D., Managing
General Partner
Seth has invested in life sciences since
1991. He has served as founding investor, acting CEO or chairman
of numerous portfolio companies. He is the managing general partner
of Apple Tree Partners (ATP). Prior to founding ATP, Seth was a
general partner at Oak Investment Partners and earlier had been
a venture partner at Sevin Rosen Funds. His exited investments include:
ArQule, Coelacanth, Cyrano Sciences, HeartWare Limited (Australia),
Informed Access, Ultracision and ViroPharma. Current portfolio investments
include: Gloucester Pharmaceuticals, GeneOS Oy, Aileron Therapeutics,
Structural GenomiX and Tokai Pharmaceuticals. Seth received an A.B.
from Princeton University, an M.D. and MBA both from Columbia University
and completed a surgery internship at the Presbyterian Hospital.
He serves on the board of the International Partnership for Microbicides,
a Rockefeller Foundation/Gates Foundation sponsored public-private
partnership engaged in the development of anti-HIV microbicides,
and is also Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the New York Studio
School for Drawing, Painting and Sculpture.

Venture Partners
Scott Chappel, Ph.D.
Scott joined Apple Tree Partners in 2003 from
Dyax Corporation (DYAX) where he served as Executive Vice President
for Science and Technology. While at Dyax, he established the Company’s
preclinical pipeline of therapeutic proteins and the antibody discovery
program. Previously, Scott held a variety of senior management positions
at Serono, Inc., including Chief Scientist. While at Serono, Scott
was involved in the development of several FDA approved products,
including Gonal F, Luveris, Ovidrel and Rebif. He has also served
as Chief Scientific Officer and Senior Vice President for Research
at Diacrin, Inc. (now GenVec) and Research Director at Integrated
Genetics (now part of Genzyme, Inc.). Scott received his Ph.D. in
Neuroscience from the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
He is the inventor on 18 issued U.S. patents and the author or co-author
of more than 65 peer-reviewed scientific publications.

Greg Verdine, Ph.D.
Greg joined Apple Tree Partners in
2003. He is currently a Harvard Professor and the Erving Professor
of Chemistry in the departments of Chemistry and Chemical Biology
and Molecular and Cellular Biography at Harvard University. He is
Founding Faculty Member of the Harvard Institute of Chemical and
Cell Biology. He is also a Lilly Award winner in Biological Chemistry.
Greg was a principal scientific adviser to Variagenics (now Nuvelo
(NUVO)) and is the scientific founder of Enanta. He is a co-founder,
scientific advisor and director of the ATP portfolio companies,
Aileron Therapeutics and Gloucester Pharmaceuticals. Greg is also
a scientific consultant to Roche Pharmaceuticals. He received his
Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Columbia University.

Joseph A. Yanchik III
Joe joined Apple Tree Partners
in 2005. He currently is CEO
of Aileron Therapeutics, and a Director of Tokai Pharmaceuticals. Joe has fourteen years of experience founding,
funding, and developing technology companies. Prior to ATP, he was
a member of the senior management team at Mendel Biotechnology,
Inc., a private company funded by the Monsanto Company and the Biotechnology
Value Fund, which was named by the science journal Acumen one of
the 100 most important companies in the world in terms of its impact
on human health. Prior to Mendel, he helped found Poetic Genetics,
Inc., a gene therapy company based on discoveries out of the Stanford
University Medical Center that was subsequently funded by Bill Rutter
and his private development enterprise, Synergenics, and he was
a founding executive of a CMGI funded Internet company. Joe is a licensed attorney, admitted to practice
in New York, California, and the District of Columbia. His legal
practice included representing Fortune 500 companies while working
at Cahill Gordon & Reindel (NY) and Silicon Valley venture funded
start-ups while at Venture Law Group (Menlo Park). He received his
J.D. from Villanova University School of Law, at which he was Managing
Editor of the Law Review.

Associate Venture Partners
Rosana Kapeller, M.D.,
Ph.D.
Rosana joined Apple Tree Partners
in August 2005. She is currently Vice President, Research for Aileron
Therapeutics. Prior to joining ATP, Rosana was Director of Molecular
and Cellular Biology at Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Inc., where she
played a key role in the functional evaluation and advancement of
novel drug targets into Millennium's drug discovery pipeline. Rosana
has published over 20 peer-reviewed scientific articles and is inventor/co-inventor
on over 100 patents. Rosana completed her post-doctoral training in
1996 at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute with Dr. Stephen Burakoff
where she was a recipient of the David Abraham Fellowship in Pediatric
Oncology. She received her Ph.D. in 1994 from Tufts University under
the supervision of Dr. Lewis C. Cantley. Rosana obtained her Medical
Degree in 1986 from the Universidade de Ciências Médicas,

Huw Nash, Ph.D.
Huw joined Apple Tree Partners in June 2005. He
is currently Vice President, Corporate Development for Aileron
Therapeutics. Prior to joining ATP, Huw was a founding scientist
of NeoGenesis Pharmaceuticals, a drug-discovery technology company
that was acquired by Schering-Plough in February 2005. At NeoGenesis,
Huw served as Vice President, External Collaborations, where he
directly managed 21 research collaborations with large pharma and
biotech companies and academic labs, and also served as the principal
technical representative for all business development, private financing
and merger and acquisition activities. In addition, Huw was a Principal
Investigator for 3 Small Business Innovation Research Grants, was
a co-author of 5 peer-reviewed scientific publications with NeoGenesis,
and was a co-inventor on 9 patents. Huw received his B.A. in Biochemical
Sciences from Harvard College and received his Ph.D. in Organic
Chemistry from Harvard University with Professor Gregory L. Verdine.

Administration
Marie-Thérèse Afif
Marie-Thérèse is responsible for administration,
financial management and operation of the funds, and she has been
with Apple Tree Partners since its inception. Prior to joining ATP,
Marie-Thérèse assisted Dr. Harrison at Oak Investment
Partners. She received a Bachelor of Arts from Heerbrugg, Switzerland,
a French graduate degree from Aix-en-Provence, France and a Certificate
in Financial Analysis (CFA) from New York University.

The Monitor Group
The Monitor Group is an international
consulting company with more than 30 offices around the world. As
a Special Limited Partner of ATP, Monitor is effectively on call
to provide strategic and marketing analyses to ATP portfolio companies
and start-up projects.
SITRA
SITRA is the Finnish Innovation Fund. In addition to its role as a Limited Partner,
SITRA has an exclusive relationship with ATP to commercialize Finnish
technologies in the US life sciences market.
